Jon Kitley’s “Discover the Horror” Book Release Party, July 27 at The Music Box Theatre
For over five decades, Jon Kitley has been on a never-ending quest to explore as much of the horror film genre as possible, from the early days of terror television to movie theaters and drive-ins, from the video explosion to the creation of his long-running website. Now, for the first time, fans of Kitley’s Krypt can read how it all started (and continues to this day) as Jon shares his personal “tales from the road” experiences, having attended over a hundred horror movie conventions from coast-to-coast, as well as thoughts on different sub-genres, critics, reference books, and so much more. Plus, discover plenty of tips on how YOU can get the most out of your own journey into Monsters, Maniacs, and the Meaning of it All!

The launch party for Discover the Horror: One Man’s 50-Year Quest for Monsters, Maniacs, and the Meaning of It All will take place July 27th at the Music Box Theatre, featuring a special screening of THE GIANT CLAW to celebrate the release!

WildClaw Presents The Brood: An Evening of the Horror Variety
WildClaw Theatre invites you to join us for a new cabinet of horrors! A one-night-only special engagement where we’ll raise a bit of Halloween spirit from the grave early.
The evening includes a variety show of performers specially curated from the darkest corners of the city; magic and music, burlesque and drag, and maybe even some puppets if you are lucky. We’re even bringing a favorite piece from Deathscribe, WildClaw’s International Audio Drama Festival, back to life just for you.
Get into the spirit with us and come as you are — or as you’d like to be — in costume, cosplay (the scarier the better), or your spookiest swanky apparel. Don’t have time or need some help? Wildclaw makeup artists will be available that night to provide you with special makeup and costume pieces for the evening. Costume or not, just be there!
Drink, laugh, scream, and mingle and when the night is over and you wander home slightly unbalanced — from the whiskey or the cavalcade of strange things you’ve borne witness to — know that you will not be falling asleep early…
Bar opens at 7:00; Doors at 7:30; Show begins at 8:00. Tickets include one drink ticket in purchase price.
Tickets are open seating. All seats (except reserved tables) are available at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/4226060 on a first come, first served basis when doors open.

Everybody’s welcome at Ma’s. But good luck getting home safe.
Oscar® winner Octavia Spencer stars as Sue Ann, a loner who keeps to herself in her quiet Ohio town. One day, she is asked by Maggie, a new teenager in town (Diana Silvers, Glass), to buy some booze for her and her friends, and Sue Ann sees the chance to make some unsuspecting, if younger, friends of her own.
She offers the kids the chance to avoid drinking and driving by hanging out in the basement of her home. But there are some house rules: One of the kids has to stay sober. Don’t curse. Never go upstairs. And call her “Ma.”
But as Ma’s hospitality starts to curdle into obsession, what began as a teenage dream turns into a terrorizing nightmare, and Ma’s place goes from the best place in town to the worst place on earth.
MA opens nationwide on May 31st, 2019. #MaMovie
