About
ChicagoHorror.com soft-launched on October 13, 2006 and officially launched a couple of weeks later on Halloween. Created by dark artist & visual designer Chad Savage, the goal of the site is to provide a single focal point for all the dark and spooky things Chicago has to offer 24/7/365. The point of the site is to give you, the user, a launching point for Chicago’s dark side, including news feeds from various horror, Halloween, haunted attraction, gothic/industrial, supernatural/paranormal, dark art and other creepy businesses, bands, stores, groups, events and so forth.
To do this, ChicagoHorror.com features dynamic news feeds from various Chicago-based dark websites, movie ticket giveaways from places like Lionsgate and Fox Atomic, local events like our Zombie Pinups contests and much more! Share information and updates about Chicago-based dark events! ChicagoHorror.com will grow organically and welcomes suggestions for additional content, features, and so forth. ChicagoHorror.com was lost on 01/09/2009 in a MASSIVE server crash and was rebuilt.
In 2013, ChicagoHorror.com was migrated from Drupal to WordPress, in the interest of improving the site functions and features.
In 2015, sister sites ChicagoZombie.com, ChicagoVampire.com and DarkChicago.com were combined into ChicagoHorror.com and the site rebranded as Dark Chicago; this was done to bring an increasingly splintered news & updates service back under one umbrella, in one location.
Dark Chicago is a network of websites focused on horror, the macabre, Halloween, haunted houses and all things spooky in Chicago. At the time of this writing there are 10+ websites actively involved and all helping each other to cross-promote and inform the Chicago horror community about various events, promotions and whatnot. This is home base.
